QIIB recently hosted two groups of students from Qatar Academy at a Professional Day event.
The initiative falls within the framework of the bank’s corporate social responsibility, whereby it is committed to different activities that serve the society, mainly in the area of education, QIIB has said in a statement.
The Qatar Academy students visited various bank departments, where senior executives explained to them different Islamic banking operations, customer service, information systems, types of banking services, accounts and issues related to cheques.
QIIB chief executive officer Abdulbasit Ahmed al-Shaibei met the students and welcomed them to the bank. “The young people are the very basis of our hope. We are all relying on this generation to achieve more growth, prosperity and progress for our beloved country, Qatar,” he said.
The CEO reminded the students that success is the fruit of commitment and often bears out of a strong personality. “This can be achieved when we are always ready to do our best in order to succeed and seek and acquire information and gain experiences from our classrooms at different stages of education. In addition to our life experiences, especially those that are narrated to students by our teachers and professors, practical activities as part of the curriculum have a great impact and get rooted in our minds.”
Further, the students met a number of bank executives handling various tasks - ranging from development to information - and interacted with them. They were also briefed on the staffing requirements and qualifications sought by the bank for its various positions.
The students and their accompanying supervisors expressed gratitude and thanked QIIB for the cordial welcome extended to them as well as the other facilities offered during the Professional Day.
They acknowledged that the visit to QIIB was fruitful and they could gather valuable knowledge related to banking, particularly Shariah-compliant banking pursued by QIIB.
