HE the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi has met a Thai delegation headed by the director general of the department of employment in Thailand, following a visit by the delegation to the Labour City.
Minister al-Nuaimi said that Qatar is grateful for the contributions of the Thai labour towards the development of the country. “In the framework of our quest towards achieving Qatar’s vision 2030, we look forward to welcoming more highly skilled Thai labour in the coming years,” the Minister said.
The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs will co-operate with Thai officials to put in place a strict procedure for hiring skilled Thai workers. The recruitment offices will be approved under the supervision of the Thai Ministry of Labour.
The director general of the department of employment in Thailand said that his country appreciates the opportunity offered by Qatar for high-skilled expatriate workers, and hailed the steps taken by  Qatar to ensure the health, safety and welfare of expatriate workers.
He said that Thai officials are working with their Qatari counterparts to ensure that the employment of Thai workers in Qatar is a fully legitimate process.   
The Thai Minister of Labour Sirichai Distakul visited Doha last March and held high-level meetings with the Qatari officials.
