The Qatar Global Education Fair, organised by BMI, will be held today and tomorrow at Intercontinental Doha - The City.
Educational institutions from Canada, Germany, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland and the US, as well as some important local institutions are participating.
Students, parents and executives will have the opportunity to find out more about the advantages of an international experience at a university or language programme abroad.
Visitors can talk directly with directors, representatives and teachers from institutions around the world and find answers to any questions they have.
Identifying the right course, writing a successful application, the advantages of an international qualification, applying for a student visa, accommodation options and costs, and the long-term benefits of studying abroad can be discussed.
Visitors can also attend free seminars conducted by Education USA, Campus France as well as specific universities and careers organisations.
France will be the guest of honour of the Fair and 15 higher education institutions (business schools, engineering schools, universities and French language schools) will present the wide range of courses they have.
Currently, more than 260,000 international students attend universities and other institutions of higher education in France.
According to a BMI statement, French universities and other educational institutions do not distinguish between international students and French students. Both groups face identical admission and tuition requirements; both receive the same degrees.
“Many of these international students are from the GCC and the strong French delegation coming to the Qatar Global Education Fair is proof of the excellent relationship with Qatar and shows the desire of the French institutions to strengthen their co-operation,” BMI said.
The French group is led by Campus France (the French national public agency for the promotion of higher education, international student services, and international mobility). Its officials will answer questions and help students in their administrative procedures (presentation of France, student visa, daily life in France, etc).
Visitors to the Qatar Global Education Fair will be able to find information on thousands of study options including undergraduate courses, masters, MBA and postgraduate courses, language programmes, and summer courses.
Entrance to the fairs is free and visitors are advised to pre-register for fast track entry at the event website www.globaleducationfairs.net which also gives information on participating institutions and the seminar schedule. The timings are 3pm to 7.30pm today and 9am to 2pm tomorrow.
BMI, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2017, has organised events in Asia, Europe, North and South America and Australia for over 20 years.
