Hamad International Airport (HIA) will host the 12th Airport Council International Asia Pacific Regional Assemble Conference and Exhibition, which will be taking place in Doha in April next year.
Over the years, the ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference and Exhibition has made its name as one of the most important aviation events, addressing major issues affecting the aviation industry and attracting high level representation from airports and industry partners, including airlines, regulators and suppliers from all over the world.
The “hosting honour” was handed over to HIA at the 11th ACI Asia Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference and Exhibition - hosted at the Gold Coast, Australia - by Chris Mills, CEO of Queensland Airports Limited to Abdulaziz al- Mass, vice-president (Commercial and Marketing) at HIA.  
During the event, HIA’s vice-president (Operations) Ioannis Metsovitis, participated in a panel discussion regarding airports preparing and facilitating for world events, presenting the preparation framework for welcoming the World Cup of 2022.
HIA Chief Operating Officer Badr Mohamed al-Meer said,“As proud hosts of the 12th ACI Asia Pacific Regional Assembly, we anticipate welcoming our industry peers to Doha through the gates of our airport to experience Qatar’s warm hospitality and culture along with its cosmopolitan sophistication. Most importantly, together with ACI Asia Pacific,  we will be providing the platform for industry leaders to come together to discuss trends and challenges,  as well as propose ideas that will make a real difference to the future of aviation.”
This is the second time Doha’s airport will be hosting a major ACI event with the previous hub, Doha International Airport, hosting the ACI Airport Exchange 2013.
