Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi yesterday met with HE Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari, Adviser at the Emiri Diwan and Qatar’s candidate to the post of the director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco).
During the meeting, Dr al-Kuwari convoyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the Tunisian president and of best wishes of further progress and prosperity to the Tunisian people.  
For his part, the Tunisian president entrusted Dr al-Kuwari with his greetings to HH the Emir and wishes of good health and happiness and for the Qatari people further development and prosperity.  
The Tunisian president welcomed the nomination of Dr al-Kuwari for the post of Unesco director-general, stressing Tunisia’s support for this nomination.
Dr al-Kuwari is currently visiting Tunisia to take part in an international symposium hosted by the Tunisian Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Isesco) and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (Alecso) on the promotion of peace and dialogue values.
