The Cultural Village Foundation-Katara on Monday organised a concert by the Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra at the Opera House.
The event was held in co-operation with the Turkish embassy, and was attended among others by Katara Cultural Village General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, Turkish ambassador Ahmet Demirok, and several diplomats.
Al-Sulaiti thanked to Turkish embassy for its co-operation in bringing the finest of Turkish art and music to Qatar.
“This fine musical show represents a unique opportunity for exploring the depth and richness of Turky’s diverse culture and heritage,” al-Sulaiti said.
Demirok expressed gratitude for all efforts made by Katara to introduce a taste of cultures from around the world to Qatar, stressing the importance of the co-operation between the embassy and Katara to organise cultural and artistic events at the Cultural Village.
“The Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra is one of the most prominent orchestras and it has performed all over the world spreading the Turkish musical culture and uniqueness,” he said.
As part of the “Cultural Diversity Festival” organised by Katara in co-operation with Unesco Office in Doha and Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, Katara esplanade hosted on April 17 and 18 a unique Italian folklore musical.
Another folklore show by the Saudi Arabia Al-Jawhara band will be held on April 23 and 24.
