A Qatari delegation headed by the Minister of Finance HE Ali Sherif al-Emadi, is taking part in the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group,  which is currently on in Washington DC. 
The delegation includes Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) Chief Executive Officer, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Saud al-Thani, and the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Qatar, HE Sheikh Fahad bin Faisal al-Thani. The meetings will discuss key issues relating to the world economic outlook. 
The Qatari delegation is scheduled to hold a number of meetings with senior officials at IMF and the World Bank Group, in addition to bilateral meetings with delegations from other countries. It will also participate in the IMF meeting on the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region. 
The Qatari delegation will as well hold meetings with US senior officials in the banking and financial sectors and the heads of major international companies. 
The Spring Meetings of IMF and the World Bank Group each year bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives, and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.  
Also featured are seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focused on the global economy, international development, and the world’s financial system.
