Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has organised a First Aid course for 15 workers of Cut Technology for Trading and Contracting W L L, as part of its community training and awareness programme conducted at different businesses and institutions in Qatar to promote safety and security standards and life-saving practices among nationals and expatriates.
The two-day course was held at QRCS’s Medical Training Centre. The trainees received diverse experience and knowledge, including background information about QRCS and basic training in First Aid, surface water rescue, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); how to deal with cases of fainting, suffocation, bleeding, injury, fracture, burn, epilepsy, poisoning, and heat exhaustion?; and techniques of moving injured people.
First, there were theoretical lectures to explain medical information, together with demonstrations on a CPR mannequin. Then, there were exercises to practice the learnt skills on real people.
The course was facilitated by a group of QRCS medical trainers.
Established in 2012 in Qatar, Cut Technology works in concrete cutting and water well drilling.
Ahmed Awad Abo Daoud, the company’s director, stated, “The company always provides opportunities for its staff to utilise various programmes and activities that can help them do their work with the highest degrees of safety and security. So, we were interested in training our staff in first aid and CPR”.
“Actually, QRCS and the course’s facilitators effectively raised our workers’ awareness in this respect, thanks to their expertise and know-how. This encourages us to co-operate with them in the future, to make use of QRCS’s awareness programmes in other arenas,” he added.
“Throughout the course, the participants were exceptionally active. They emphasised the great benefits they gained from this valuable training, commending the openness of the facilitators in answering their questions and clarifying any issues related to their work”.
QRCS is an active auxiliary to the State of Qatar in pursuing the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and contributing to the Qatari society in different aspects.
