Temperature is expected to rise in the country from Sunday, nearing the mid-30C mark in some places, according to the weather office.

The Qatar Met department also noted – through a post on its social media channels on Saturday – that another weather system would start affecting the northern Arabian Peninsula on Sunday and was expected to influence Qatar by the end of this week.

The country received scattered rain over the weekend and the temperature also saw a slight drop during this period. From Sunday, it is likely to get hotter during the day, weather charts show.

According to data available with the Met department, the places that received the highest rainfall in the country between April 7 and 12 noon yesterday were Dukhan (5.6mm), Qatar University (4.1mm) and Umm Bab (3.8mm).

Sunday’s forecast shows it will be relatively hot during the day in inshore areas with slight dust in places. Offshore areas will remain partly cloudy.

The minimum and maximum temperatures in the country on Sunday are expected to be 21C and 34C, respectively, with the forecast for Doha being 22C and 33C.
