The joint Qatari-Saudi Business Council yesterday urged business people from the two countries to establish business partnerships. 
The council held a meeting in Saudi Arabia yesterday. The Qatari side made a presentation on the investment opportunities in the industrial sector that are currently available in Qatar. Later, the two sides discussed ways to make those investments. 
The two sides also agreed on holding a meeting between Qatari business people and the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (Modon), to explore investment opportunities and financing. 
The two sides also reviewed preparations for the fifth Made in Qatar exhibition, slated to take place in Saudi Arabia at the year-end. 
Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Tawar al-Kuwari, vice chairman, Qatar Chamber, called on business people from both sides to seize on the investment opportunities and the trust in private sector offered by the leadership in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. 
He added that the strategic ties between the two countries make the foundation for strong economic and investment co-operation.

Top GCC officials for Arab Future Cities Summit 2016


Senior officials and representatives of government entities, organisations and institutions across the GCC will take part in the fifth Arab Future Cities Summit 2016, which will start  in Doha on April 11.
Under the patronage of Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed al-Sulaiti, the two-day event aims to facilitate an international platform to discuss technological and social innovations.
The summit will also tackle the implementation of the Arab smart cities development, the required infrastructure, some of the issues and challenges, and the solutions to overcome these challenges.
The summit will also shed light on measures and strategies capable of achieving sustainability and the development of Doha into a smart city, in addition to latest trends related to smart cities development.
