Dimdex to open today
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will inaugurate the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex) 2016 today. The three-day event,  being held at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), will see the participation of a number of defence ministers and chiefs of staff from various countries.  It is expected to draw more than 9,000 visitors from some 60 countries. Around 180 Qatari and international companies will showcase the latest maritime security technologies.

Emir receives phone call from Moroccan king
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday received a telephone call from King Mohamed VI of Morocco.  During the phone call, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them. They also exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern.
