HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani reaffirmed Qatar’s continued support to Tunisia in the economic and social challenges the latter is facing.
He also expressed Qatar’s solidarity with Tunisia, in light of the increased rate of terrorist attack the latter has been suffering from. The Foreign Minister was speaking at a joint press conference with his Tunisian counterpart Khemaies Jhinaoui.  
The Foreign Minister of Qatar said that his visit to Tunisia was to discuss bilateral relations and to offer help to Tunisia in its fight against terrorism. Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani added that he discussed economic and social affairs with his Tunisian counterpart, as well as the progress of Qatari projects in the North African country. The Foreign Minister added that his meeting with Jhinaoui was a good opportunity to discuss the latest regional developments in Libya and Syria.  
On the Libyan crisis, the Qatari Foreign Minister said that all parties involved in the country should work on reaching a political solution.  
As for Syria, he stressed on a political solution of the crisis.  
For his part, the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that yesterday’s meeting discussed Tunisia’s priorities of tackling unemployment and enhancing development. He expressed his hope that Qatar will continue its backing to Tunisia on the economic and social fronts.  
He expressed his agreement with the Foreign Minister of Qatar on the need for a political resolution to the crisis in Libya.  
On the Palestinian issue, Jhinaoui stressed the importance of joint Arab effort to achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
Meanwhile, HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday sent a message to Tunisian President Mohamed Beji Caid Essebsi pertaining to bilateral relations and the means to enhance them.  HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani conveyed the message during a meeting with Essebsi in Tunis yesterday.  During the meeting President Essebsi and the Foreign Minister discussed bilateral relations.
