Qatar District Cooling Company (Qatar Cool), a major district cooling company in the region, took part in the GCC Conservation Week initiative organised by Tarsheed, the national programme launched by Kahramaa for conservation and efficient use of water and electricity, at Ezdan Mall.
The event, which concluded on Saturday, was aimed at raising awareness on water and energy conservation in the region and the future generations of Qatar respectively.
The participation was in line with Qatar Cool’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts in encouraging the society to adapt a green attitude not only at the office or school but also at home.
The event attracted over 1,000 visitors, including many school children as well as the general public. Qatar Cool explained the different ways of saving water and the importance of conservation in today’s world.
In addition, Qatar Cool provided many educational tools for the students and visitors to allow them to understand the importance of conservation and showed them how to conserve water at home.
Qatar Cool was also supported by Atelier 101 who specialise in interactive exhibits, experiential marketing and cutting-edge technology.

Since the inauguration in 2003 Qatar Cool has won more than 25 awards, including the prestigious award from the International District Energy Association where in 2012, Qatar Cool was awarded the world’s best District Cooling System for the West bay District, and in 2014 for the Pearl-Qatar District.
Serving its customers from three strategically located cooling plants and an intricate underground piping system, the company built an impressive client base that covers The Pearl-Qatar and West Bay districts.
As part of its dedication to serving the environment, Qatar Cool has accepted the challenge to design, build and operate the largest district cooling plant in the world at The Pearl – Qatar, which will serve more than 80 apartment towers, beachfront villas and townhouses, shopping complexes, offices, schools and hotels throughout the Island, ultimately supplying 130,000 tons of refrigeration to the Island’s 45,000 residents.
