A rise in temperature is expected in the country in the coming days, the Qatar Met department has said.

Today, strong winds and high seas are likely in offshore areas by the afternoon.

“Weather charts indicate that the country might be affected by southeasterly to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong at times, between Sunday (March 27) and Tuesday (March 29). The fresh southerly winds are expected to be accompanied by dusty skies with low visibility in some areas. In addition, some cloud formations are likely with a rise in temperature and high wave warnings,” the department said through posts on social media yesterday.

The temperature is expected to rise gradually and reach the mid-30C level in the coming days, especially in the western parts of the country, due to the southerly winds, according to the weather office.

The forecast for inshore areas today says it will be relatively hot during the day with slight to blowing dust and scattered clouds.

Partly cloudy conditions and slight dust are expected in offshore areas, with the wind speed going up to 22 knots by the afternoon. The sea level may rise to 7ft.

The minimum and maximum temperatures in the country today are expected to be 14C and 32C, respectively, with the forecast for Doha being 18C and 31C.
