The accreditation department of the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP-AD) organised a workshop for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) providers.
The workshop aimed to ensure the smooth functioning of the National CME/CPD accreditation systems. The workshop included two sessions. The first session was intended to target CPD providers accredited under the new QCHP-AD CME/CPD accreditation standards. Attendees from Hamad Medial Corporation, Sidra Medical Research Center, College of Pharmacy at Qatar University and College of North Atlantic- Qatar participated in this session to enhance their knowledge about CPD activities, application form, and attachments required under the new QCHP-AD standards.
The second session targeted those providers who were accredited under the provisional QCHP-AD standards. The representatives from University of Calgary in Qatar, Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar, Primary Health Care Corporation, and School of Health Sciences-Qatar University attended this session.
The session explained the new QCHP accreditation standards and application process for accreditation of CME/CPD activities in addition to the application process for accreditation as CPD provider.
The workshop was highly interactive and included presentations, group discussions and question-and-answer sessions. QCHP-AD has dedicated a special time, every Monday from 11.30am to 1pm, to be an open day for hosting healthcare practitioners and CPD providers at the Ministry of Public Health premises to answer their questions related to the National CME/CPD programme and accreditation system.
