HE Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi yesterday visited the Industrial Area.
He toured the area and reviewed the ongoing construction plans there. The minister called for finishing the construction work quickly and assured co-operation from authorities involved to get the work done.
The minister also visited the Waste Treatment Facility in Mesaieed. He observed the process and the technology used in the facility that transforms waste into energy.
The facility is the biggest of its kind in the Middle East. It has been built on a 3sq km area and can currently process up to 2,300 tonnes of waste in a day.
