Entrepreneur Joy Alukkas has been honoured with the Business Excellence Award 2016 at a gala event organised by the Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC).
The award was presented to Alukkas, chairman and managing director of Joyalukkas Group, by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak al-Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Development, at the event held in Dubai recently.
IBPC is the only representative organisation of Indian businesses and professionals in Dubai.

Alukkas has grown his business from a single jewellery showroom to a multi-billion dollar global business empire in a span of 29 years. His flagship business is Joyalukkas Jewellery, which is today a 120-plus showroom chain spread across 11 countries around the world. The other business interests include money exchange, malls, fashion and silks retail, realty and luxury air charter, according to a statement.
