Mowasalat raises awareness on safe driving

Mowasalat has said its participation in the 32nd GCC Traffic Week is aimed at supporting traffic awareness campaigns and highlighting its efforts to ensure that citizens and residents of all ages have the maximum protection and awareness.
The organisation has shown its support, like every year, by associating itself with the Traffic Department’s initiative to raise awareness among the public on safe driving practices and ways of curbing accidents, according to a statement.
Mowasalat’s participation in the GCC Traffic Week comes through a dedicated stand at the event venue, where it has displayed latest devices used in driver training programmes - emphasising the importance of safe driving practices and alertness on the road.
Visitors to the stand are educated on the equipment deployed in Mowasalat’s Karwa Driving School, which include light vehicle training devices and the newly-introduced driving simulator for heavy vehicles and dangerous goods transportation.
The driving school provides dangerous goods transportation training under the supervision of specialised trainers accredited from the International Road Transport Union, the statement notes.
Mowasalat has also been keen on raising awareness among school students by guiding them through a display of a school bus with additional safety features. The organisation has sought to offer them safety and security tips with regard to the proper use of school transportation, focusing on the importance of seatbelts and the right way of sitting in a bus.
“Mowasalat’s main objective is to encourage the public to be more cautious while driving. Therefore, it has used its simulators and devices to give a realistic experience and convince users about the huge difference in the outcome by comparing instances of using and not using seatbelts. In addition, it has focused on the importance of paying full attention to the road while driving in order to avoid accidents and save lives,” the statement points out.
The organisation, as part of its Traffic Week efforts, has also distributed booklets on traffic guidelines and offered information on how to obtain a driving licence.
