International Bank of Qatar (IBQ) has announced its support of the 32nd GCC Traffic Week as silver sponsor.
The event was inaugurated at Darb Al Saai on Sunday afternoon and the activities will
continue until March 19.
The initiative is part of IBQ’s corporate social responsibility drive, which aims to spread education by spearheading and sponsoring programmes and activities designed to promote the welfare of the community, according to a statement.
“Our participation is driven by our desire to help raise awareness among the youth and reduce the number of road accidents in Qatar,” Omar Bouhadiba, managing director of IBQ, said, adding:  “We are happy to work closely with the Ministry of Interior and Traffic Department to drive awareness and make the GCC Traffic Week a great success.”
The one-week traffic rules and regulation awareness event aims to inform the public in Qatar about safety rules as well as measures and practices used in Qatar.
IBQ’s CSR track record extends to supporting a wide range of worthwhile community activities, such as education, health and  philanthropic initiatives, culture and arts and sports, among others, the statement notes.
