The Qatari-Omani joint committee held its 17th session yesterday in Doha and followed up on  joint projects and discussed proposals to enhance co-operation.
HE the Minister of Finance Ali Sherif al-Emadi and Oman’s Minister responsible for Financial Affairs Darwish bin Ismail bin Ali al-Balushi chaired the meeting.
Minister al-Emadi stressed the strength of ties between Qatar and Oman under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said.
The minister called for increasing investments and joint ventures and removing obstacles facing them.
For his part, the Omani minister said the convening of the session reaffirms the depth ties linking Qatar and Oman.
The Omani minister expressed his delight at the progress made in bilateral co-operation, reiterating the need to enhance integration, particularly in investment projects in order to benefit from the substantial capacities and available opportunities on both sides.
The agenda of the meeting included following up on joint projects in the fields of education, higher education, transport, communication, energy, commerce, industry, tourism and agriculture.
