The Qatar-Singapore High Level Joint Committee (HLJC) held a meeting chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean at the Emiri Diwan.  
The two sides discussed bilateral relations and means to enhance them in the economic and investment fields. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues.  
Following the talks, HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean witnessed the signing of three memoranda of understanding, one on co-operation on the legal field between the governments of Qatar and Singapore, another on co-operation in the education field between the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Education in Singapore and a third on co-operation and exchange in the field of development and capacity building of government officials and sectors’ leaders between Qatar Leadership Centre and the Civil Service College in Singapore.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore also witnessed the signing of minutes of the joint statement of the HLJC 7th meeting in which the two sides underlined their commitment to the continuation of the work of the HLJC as the major pillar of co-operation between the two countries. The two sides welcomed the development of bilateral relations as Qatar and Singapore co-operate in various fields since the HLJC’s first meeting, held in October 2006, particularly in economy, civil service and urban planning, security, civil defence, information technology, communications and legal.
The two sides welcomed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for co-operation in the field of education between the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar and the ministry of education in Singapore and the signing of a MoU between Qatar’s Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Law in Singapore.
The two sides also welcomed the renewal of an MoU on co-operation in the field of capacity building of government officials and sectors’ leaders between Qatar Leadership Centre and the Civil Service College in Singapore.  
They agreed to hold the committee’s next meeting in  Singapore at a date to be set later through diplomatic channels.  
Later HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Singaporean deputy prime minister and the delegation accompanying him.
