HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani attended the opening session of the 2nd Doha International Conference to discuss the problems of the deaf and blind (Dual Disability) which is organised by the Arab Union for the Blind (AUB) which began at Doha Marriott Hotel yesterday morning .
The opening session was also attended by senior officials and the heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of civil society organisations and governments, in addition to experts from Qatar, Arab and foreign countries and the World Federation of the Deaf Blind.  
Meanwhile, addressing the opening session of the conference, the President of the Arab Union for the Blind (AUB) Dr Khalid al-Nuaimi, who is also Chairman of the Gulf Association for Human Rights, praised the efforts taken by Qatar to improve the living conditions of persons with disabilities in all areas.
He lauded the support provided by Qatar’s leadership to the Arab Union for the Blind, which had a great impact on improving people with visual impairment across the Arab world.
Those participating in the three-day conference include representatives of civil society organisations and the governments of all Arab countries in addition to several experts from Qatar, Arab and foreign countries and the World Federation of the Deaf Blind (WFDB).
