The Nepalese Football Team (NFT) won its first game in the Asian Community Tournament by beating the Japanese team 2-0. Both goals were scored in the second half, by Aakash Chaudhari and Amir Shrestha. Twelve Asian teams are participating in this year’s tournament, where each team is set to play five matches in the group stage. A total of 37 matches will be played this year, all on Thursdays and Fridays. The semi-finals are scheduled for May 6 and the final will be played on May 13. The teams playing in Group A are Lebanon, India, Jordan, China and Thailand; while the teams in Group B are Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, South Korea, Philippines, Japan, and Singapore.
