Eleven paragliders were rescued after they crashed due to a strong storm in the city of Pokhara in Nepal yesterday, police said.
The paragliders landed in different parts of Pokhara, where the 2016 Nepali Pre World Cup paragliding competition is taking place.
Seven paragliders fell into the Fewa Lake, one was found dangling on a tree, and there others landed in different parts of the town.
Security personnel and the Nepal Aviation Sport Institute conducted the rescue.
One paraglider came from China, one from Kazakhstan, three from Ukraine and the rest from Russia.
The competition, involving 150 paragliders from 35 countries, has been postponed for the past three days due to bad weather. It is set to conclude on March 5.
