Established less than a year ago, it is fast becoming one of the most popular web based social media networks. With more than 46,000 followers on various social networking platforms, What’s Up Doha (WUD) says it reaches out to 71 percent of the people in Qatar.
Zunira, a Pakistani expatriate brought up on Doha, joined the project as a host with no prior experience of facing the camera. She has done remarkably well since then to establish her talk show as one of the most watched segments of the network within a short span of time.
She has done both one-on-one and panel interviews with notable local personalities. The most recent have been Arfah al-Hamadi, a Qatari female athlete; Dr Bilal Philips, a famous Islamic scholar; and Khalifa Haroon (Mr Q) from I Love Qatar, which will soon be aired.
“WUD is Doha’s first web based social network and a digital marketing revolution. It is an organised and highly professional platform to showcase international brands in Qatar, budding local talent, social causes, positive influencers of society and more,” says Zunira.
“At the core of WUD are its social media segments through which we offer awareness be it commercial or social, electronic Internet marketing for maximum consumer reach, new product launches, local talent recognition and, endless possibilities to be discovered,” she adds.
Born and raised in Doha, Qatar, her first impression is that of a modern day young woman with all the local essences. Even at such a young age, her confidence and ability to engage guests are admirable.
Her contagious smile, extraordinary ability to blend in, and her enthusiastic take on life are the foundations of her extrovert personality. She has spoken to a number of people from different walks of life through her online segment and continues to move further ahead.
“Our aim is to provide all our associates the best, modern and value added digital services while keeping true to our core values based on societal contribution, recognition, positive change and, awareness,” says the WUD founder.
As the founding member of WUD, she strives to make it a positive force to be reckoned with. WUD’s Digital Marketing has teamed up with various FMCG brands related to luxury, technology, leisure and, tourism for their promotions and has successfully delivered more than 42 promotional campaigns. Some of the popular segments of WUD are Shopping Guide, Entertainment with Talent Hunt, Motivation and Inspiration with Walk with CEO, Health and Wellness, Zumba Fitness, and Kitchen Experience.
The What’ s Up Doha Talk Show aims to share the work of inspirational individuals and their contributions to society as well as introduce various locally famous and talented individuals.
Zunira is the host of Breakfast with Zunira, a popular social segment that lets people across Doha share their experiences and connect with each other. Similarly, the WUD Talent Hunt is for people who are passionate about performing arts. The WUD Shopping Guide is the first of its kind, a unique concept that explores different products. WUD Kitchen Experience is another very interesting segment for food lovers. The WUD team is currently promoting its F&B sponsors’ head chefs and will later invite their followers through online registration. The WUD Zumba segment, as expected, is all about health and health awareness.
The segments coming up in 2016 include WUD Talk with CEO and WUD Silent Messages.
The WUD Talk aims to create awareness about various subject related to business industry and about their enigmas, challenges, achievements and contribution to their current role, while WUD Silent Messages videos is an educational concept that aims to bring awareness about relationship between parent and child, husband and wife, and others.
