Even on an off night for superstar Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors were still too much for the Los Angeles Clippers.
Klay Thompson scored 32 points and Draymond Green notched another triple-double Saturday as the visiting Warriors survived Curry’s poor shooting night and held on for a 115-112 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Green collected 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for his league-leading 11th triple-double for the Warriors (49-5), who were coming off their worst loss of the season, a 137-105 drubbing at Portland on Friday. They showed no ill effects as they maintained control throughout and beat the rival Clippers for the third time in as many meetings this season.
“The intensity in here was special,” said Thompson, who made 11-of-22 shots, including four three-pointers. “It’s always fun when we play the Clippers. The electricity in this building got us up and ready.”
The reigning Most Valuable Player, Curry had 23 points and nine assists. But he made just 5-of-15 shots as he battled early foul trouble and was not on the floor early in the fourth quarter, when Golden State went on its clinching run.
A jumper by JJ Redick, who scored 16 points, pulled the Clippers within 93-86 early in the final period. But a bucket by Marreese Speights and a three-pointer and jumper by Harrison Barnes doubled the advantage.
Thompson had a three-pointer and a short jumper before another three-pointer by Barnes pushed the lead to 108-92 with 5:48 to play.
Golden State held a 115-99 lead with under two minutes remaining when both teams emptied their benches - and Los Angeles’ reserves rallied with 13 straight points. Chris Wilcox made a steal and had a chance to tie it, but his double-pump 35-footer at the buzzer fell short.  “We got careless with the ball, and before you know they scored eight points in about 20 seconds,” Thompson said. “No matter who’s out there - first unit, second unit - you never stop fighting.”
Barnes scored 18 points for the Warriors, who have yet to lose consecutive games this season. Golden State shot 51 percent (42-of-82) and had 32 assists.  “We model our offense on sharing the ball,” Thompson said. “It’s contagious ... the (32) assists, that’s just a testament to how unselfish we are.”
Jamal Crawford scored 25 points, Chris Paul added 24 and DeAndre Jordan had 16 with 21 rebounds for the Clippers (36-19), who had fallen to 19-6 without superstar Blake Griffin, who has been sidelined since Christmas.
“We were impatient,” Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. “We wanted to win the game so badly we were in our own way.”
For the third time in as many games against the Clippers, Curry picked up two fouls in the first quarter and had to sit down. But Thompson scored 16 points in the period as the Warriors raced to a 33-20 lead. A chippy first half with 29 fouls and three technical fouls ended with Golden State holding a 63-53 advantage.  “(Thompson) was aggressive and had a great game,” Curry said. “That was huge for us.”  Thompson had a bucket, a three-pointer and a lob to Barnes for a one-handed slam that rebuilt the lead to 70-55 early in the third quarter. But the Clippers kept fighting as Crawford had a long three-pointer and a lob to Jordan for a dunk that temporarily left the rim crooked and cut the deficit to 84-79 late in the period.
