The Advisory Council yesterday held its weekly regular meeting under the chairmanship of Speaker HE Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi.
At outset of the meeting, HE the Secretary-General of the Advisory Council Fahad bin Mubarak al-Khayareen read out the agenda which was agreed upon. The Council then endorsed the minutes of its previous session.
During the session, the Council reviewed a memorandum of the Cabinet General Secretariat addressed to the Ministry of Municipal and Environment on the Advisory Council’s recommendations about the request to hold a general debate on the surge in real estate rents, and took note of the memo.  
Also yesterday the Advisory Council’s Financial and Economic Affairs Committee held a meeting chaired by its rapporteur Mohamed Ajaj al-Kubaisi.

Minister opens wedding halls complex
HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi yesterday inaugurated Al Daayen Halls Complex that has been built under the supervision of the private engineering office.
Speaking on the occasion, he praised efforts of the private engineering office of the ministry for building the second halls compound after construction of Al Rafa celebration complex which have modern facilities.
The Minister called on Qatari youth to use these halls for weddings.

Health Minister meets Saudi envoy
HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari met Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Qatar  Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Abdulla Alaifan.
They reviewed bilateral relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia in different fields and the means to enhance them, particularly in the health fields.

FM meets Kuwaiti emir
The Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah met Qatar’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani at the Seif Palace here yesterday.  
The Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the relations between the two countries.
The Emir of Kuwait reciprocated HH the Emir’s greetings and wished further progress and prosperity to the relations between the two countries.

Strong winds expected
Strong winds and high seas are expected in offshore areas today, the Qatar Met department has said.
The wind speed in these areas may go up to 22 knots, according to the weather report.
The forecast for inshore areas says it will be hazy to misty in some places at first, followed by moderate temperatures during the day with some clouds and a relatively cold night.
Offshore areas are likely to see some clouds, with the sea level rising to 7ft.
The minimum and maximum temperatures in the country today are expected to be 12C and 27C, respectively, with the forecast for Doha being 17C and 25C.

Amman meeting
A delegation from the Advisory Council left yesterday for Amman to participate in the 18th session of the executive committee of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) starting today. The two-day session will discuss a number of topics, including the working plan of the Union for the current year and a number of administrative and financial matters.
