The Zakat Fund, under the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, has given away QR8,482,632 as urgent and regular aid for the needy during January.
The fund gives regular monthly aid, totalling QR7,182,277, to 19,000 needy cases. In addition, urgent aid amounting to QR1,300,355 was given to needy cases last month.
The fund affirms that it makes sure through a field social research and investigations that the disbursed aid really reaches the targeted needy people. Further, it communicates directly with the applicants for aid to tell them whether their requests have been approved.
