Doha: As the tournament nears its final stage, the eighth week of the Aspire Embassies Futsal tournament came to a close with a number of strong performances by the participating teams.
Algeria secured a 7-5 victory against France in a strong match that saw the ambassadors of both countries take part. Ethiopia then won its game against Saudi Arabia 8-5, and then Kenya and Spain drew against one another.
Following these games, Jordan retains its position at the top of Group A with 18 points, followed by the UAE with 15 points and Somalia with 12 points. In Group B, Syria retains its first-position place with 15 points, followed by Ethiopia and Tunisia with 12 and 9 points respectively.
The embassies taking part in the Aspire Embassies Futsal Tournament include India, Saudi Arabia, the
United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, France, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Russia, Spain, Mexico, the United States, Algeria, Tunisia, Ethiopia and Kenya.
