The General Authority of Customs (GAC) in Qatar has launched a major marketing campaign to help build awareness for its single-window customs clearance system called Al Nadeeb.
The GAC has also launched Al Nadeeb smartphone application to facilitate easy access to the online customs clearance system.
The objective of the campaign is to create awareness for the advanced features and benefits offered by Al Nadeeb to public and private sector companies, institutions, traders, customs clearance agencies and shipping agents.
The launch of Al Nadeeb is considered a milestone in the modernisation of customs processes as it delivers top-of-the-line  clearance services to the trade community in Qatar.
The launch of the smartphone app further enhances the services of Al Nadeeb.  With 24 hour access, the app guarantees swift and easy customs transactions to all users by making the services available on any mobile device.
Al Nadeeb will also strengthen the role of the private sector in the economic development of the country and support the economic diversification policy of the Qatari government.
GAC director Ahmed bin Ali al-Mohannadi said: “Al Nadeeb provides our customers with the world’s most efficient, reliable and trustworthy customs clearance services through the continued development of cutting-edge systems, customer service and human capital.
“As Qatar witnesses an economic boom and diversification in accordance with the goals of its 2030 Vision, the Customs Authority is adopting the latest systems and technology to support this progress.”
Al-Mohannadi recalled that Al Nadeeb was developed after extensive studies into the requirements of various economic sectors in the country with the primary objective of delivering efficiency, flexibility and transparency in their dealings with the Customs Authority.
“The development of a country and its people is measured by its ability to respond to global changes and technological developments and adopt them for the use of its own citizens. The Customs Authority in Qatar plays a pivotal role in contributing to these developments,” he pointed out.
Al Nadeeb already serves more than 130,000 users including 15,000 major trading companies, 827 customs clearance agencies and 200 shipping agents. Al Nadeeb also integrates with numerous ministries and government agencies helping to organise and simplify customs procedures and thus meet regional and international customs standards.
Al Nadeeb is one of the important next steps in converting the State of Qatar into an effective partner in facilitating global trade by providing customs services characterised by complete transparency, full security and safety through an advanced risk management system.
Al Nadeeb is fully integrated into all ports as well as customs facilities in the country and offers a wide range of services to both the private and public sector. The system is a web-based customs service designed specifically to digitise and streamline the customs clearance processes in the State of Qatar.
