Not a safe practice

Dear Sir,

I have seen many working women waiting at the roadside for their company buses/cars in Doha and this is not a safe practice. Isn’t it every company’s responsibility to look after the safety of its female staff by offering them door-to-door transportation service rather than picking them up or dropping them off at designated public points?
Aren’t there any Qatari laws on the transportation of women working with both government and private sectors, please?

Indian teachers are poorly paid

Dear Sir,

The salary scale of teachers in Indian schools remains particularly low. An Indian school teacher is being paid a salary ranging from QR2,000 to QR4,000, depending upon the grades they teach (KG  to12th standard). No allowances are paid in most cases.
Today, with the rising inflation, it’s difficult for families having a teacher as the main earning member to make both ends meet. Schools hike their fees periodically, but the salary of teachers remains the same.
I hope that the Supreme Education Council (SEC) will look into this matter so that the Indian teachers will get a fair wage.

Election hopes for the Philippines

Dear Sir,

The Philippine elections are scheduled for May 9. I know every Filipino is anxious and dreadful of the possible outcome in the elections.
Being a Doha-based Filipino worker who had to leave my seven-month-old daughter with my parents (to give her the best future, of course) in the Philippines, I fervently hope for peaceful and fair elections.
Our country has gone through a lot and its status and  economy don’t get any better. It is painful to hear various reports about rising number of crimes and the unstoppable corruption almost every day.
We pray and look forward to a successful election that’s gonna trigger the much wanted and needed change in our beloved country.
