Qatar defeated Saudi Arabia by five wickets in their Twenty20 match of the Friendly Cup at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Batting first, Saudi Arabia put up a total of 153 for the loss of eight wickets. Afaq scored 66 runs off 39 balls with the help of four sixes and five fours. Hammad contributed 17 runs, while Kashif chipped in with 16 runs off 21 deliveries.
Nouman and Omran claimed four wickets each for the hosts.
In reply, Qatar achieved the target in 18.4 overs after losing five wickets. Awais scored 38 runs off 26 balls, while Khurram made 36 runs off 24 balls. Kamran and Rizlan also contributed 22 and 21 runs, respectively. Mazher and Afzal picked up two wickets each for the visitors.
Qatar’s Nouman was declared the man of the match. Yesterday’s game was the third of the series. Saudi Arabia won the first two games played on Thursday and Friday.
Chairman of Al Ajayan Projects Mohamed Mahdi al-Ahbabi and general secretary of Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) Manzoor Ahmad distributed the prizes.
