The security surveillance cameras in Kahramaa have been linked with the National Command Centre (NCC).
The linking was launched by Director General of Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim al-Khulaifi, on Wednesday in the presence of Kahramaa president engineer Essa Hilal al-Kuwari and dignitaries from Ministry of Interior and Kahramaa.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director General said that the linking was implemented in line with the integration of the security system in the country, which stems from the state’s interest in protecting the strategic water reservoirs and electricity plants, and the use of modern technology that helps the security personnel in performing their tasks and controlling the strategic installations.
“Since water and electricity are strategic requirements of the country, the security of the water reservoirs and power stations has become a joint responsibility of the NCC and Kahramaa,” Staff Major General al-Khulaifi explained.
Engineer al-Kuwari said that as per government directions on integration between service sectors and state security authorities, Kahramaa was keen to link its all water reservoirs and power station with the NCC.
The first phase of the project has been completed by linking 27 stations whereas 21 more stations will be linked within the first quarter of 2016. All 250 Kahramaa power stations and more than 40 water reservoirs will be linked soon.
The first responder, in the event of any incidents, will be Kahramaa and there will be quick co-ordination between the NCC and Kahramaa.
“The NCC is capable of managing the situations and controlling the stations,” Ministry of Interior’s Security Systems director Major Jassim Abdul Raheem al-Sayed added.
