SDI Marketing Doha, a subsidiary of Dallah Group, one of Qatar’s leading sports and experiential marketing agencies, and Doha’s first 360 degree communications group, has announced that it will be the exclusive sponsor and rights holders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Basketball Organizing Committee Championships for the next four years, 2016-2019.
The announcement was made during a press conference, followed by an official signing ceremony to mark the momentous occasion in front of distinguished representatives from the GCC Basketball Organising Committee, SDI Marketing Doha, as well as local and international media representatives, with the reception being held at the Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) at the Al Gharafa Sports Complex.
The GCC Basketball Organizing Committee manages the championships which take place throughout the six GCC countries, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
SDI Marketing was established in 1988 in Canada as a marketing agency with one simple philosophy, “Make our client’s business our business.” Since then, SDI Marketing has leveraged the unparalleled power of its increasingly global network of relationships, capabilities and assets to benefit its range of clients across a number of sectors including: sports marketing, experiential marketing, concept creation, evaluation and contract negotiation, athlete and property management, grassroots and schools programmes, live event production and promotion, cause marketing, custom applications and CSR.
Further, since establishing its office in Doha, Qatar in 2010 as part of the Dallah Group, SDI Marketing has continued to leverage existing, and develop new relationships which have resulted in; increased access to markets, production and management of a wide spectrum of high profile professional work, and continuous delivery of proven results for their clients.
“SDI Marketing Doha is immensely proud to be the Official Title Sponsor and rights holder of the GCC Basketball Organizing Committee Championships. We take great pride in continuing the development of sports in the GCC region, especially Qatar in accordance with our Qatar National Vision 2030.
“With FIFA World Cup 2022 on the horizon, Qatar’s sports landscape offers world class facilities and endless opportunity, it’s really an exciting time for us,” said Rashid al-Nuaimi, Dallah Group, Chairman.
“SDI Marketing has offices in key global hubs, including Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Doha. We will use our international experience, connections, and wealth of knowledge to elevate the game of basketball in Qatar and GCC region. Together with the GCC Basketball Organizing Committee we will strive to develop the product on and off the court, through community outreach, education and sport development initiatives,” Said Roy Roedger, SDI Marketing Global, President.
“Partnering with an esteemed sporting institution such as the GCC Basketball Organizing Committee, SDI Marketing Doha has elevated its local and global profile, now including all GCC countries. In return, we will implement our immense industry knowledge and resources, and look to raise the profile of the region’s Championships.
“For example, through our relationship with the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) in the United States, we envision inviting NBA alumni players to come to the GCC as guest coaches of our grassroots program surrounding the championship, in effort to ignite the passion for basketball at a young age. Also, for our valued partners we would like to offer unique experiences they would not otherwise have access too. These are just a couple ideas of our extensive strategy,” said Wassim Aldayah, SDI Marketing Doha, CEO.
