The Advisory Council held its weekly meeting under the chairmanship of its Speaker HE Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi yesterday.
At the outset of the meeting HE the Secretary-General of the Advisory Council Fahad bin Mubarak al-Khayareen read out the agenda which was agreed upon. Then the Council endorsed the minutes of its previous session.  
The Council reviewed a draft law that seeks to combat smuggling and illegal trade of petroleum products, and decided to refer it to the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee for further study and a report.
The Advisory Council’s Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee held a meeting yesterday.
The Committee elected Nasser Serayea al-Kaabi as its Rapporteur.
The committee studied a draft law on the combating smuggling and illegal trade  of petroleum products and decided to submit a report to the council.
Meanwhile, the Advisory Council’s Services and Public Utilities Committee met yesterday under its rapporteur Saqr Fahd al-Mereikhi.  
The committee continued its study, based on a request from council member Hamed Ali al-Ahbabi, on  improving the services to villages across Qatar.
HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani attended the meeting.
He gave the opinion of the ministry on the suggestion and responded to queries from the council members.  
The committee agreed to resume its study at a later date.
