Qatar Sports Club overcame a 12-point deficit going into the final quarter to edge Al Arabi 70-67 to record their first win in 10 matches in the Qatar Basketball League last evening.
In a close encounter, Al Arabi appeared to have sealed the match when they led 55-43 with 10 minutes remaining, but Qatar Sports Club rallied in style to score a whopping 27 points and clinch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Anthony White top-scored with Qatar Sports Club with 21 points while Constevous Jefferson had 17 and Ibrahim Giama 14.
For Al Arabi, Edward O’Brian excelled with 16 points while Narcellius Soyebo and Masoud al-Nasr had 16 and 14, respectively.
In another match, Al Gharafa thrashed Al Khor 98-66 in a hopelessly one-sided match with Hassino Ndoye scoring 21 for the winners, followed by Dwayne Galloway (20) and Osaro Adako (18).
Ronald Rembert scored 26 points for Al Khor.
