What better way to enjoy the cool weather than to be all up and about and keep yourself warm while you are at it? While quite a few of Al Forsan International Sports Resort’s wide range of exciting activities kicked off in December, despair not. There’s still time to jump right into some of them – such as a Winter Kids Camp and an Equestrian Camp – in January.
For kids getting restless over the winter break, Abu Dhabi’s Al Forsan International Sports Resort’s Winter Camp offers a neat mix of activities to choose from. Children will have plenty of new skills to learn and perfect. Until January 7, running between Sundays and Thursdays, youths will be categorised into age groups, which will include: Discoverers (4-5), Adventurers (6-7) and Knights (8-12). Kids will have the chance to participate in either the Early Bird Camp (7:30am – 9:00am) for an additional AED20 or the Late Stay Camp (15:00pm – 17:30pm) for an additional AED30.
As for the Equestrian Camp, which, too, runs until January 7, the Al Forsan Equestrian camp will see eager horse-lovers getting the chance to practice an immersive and exciting equestrian experience. “Camp goers can register for only AED150, and will be given the opportunity to opt for either one week for AED1,400, two weeks for AED2,700, three weeks for 3,800 or just one day for AED300. Attendees will be invited to aid Al Forsan’s world class vet team, to help groom the horses themselves, whilst also learning to become a better rider and maybe even an instructor,” a Resort official says.
Al Forsan has also introduced its newest motorsports activity that it says is sure to catch the eyes of the region’s finest kart racers. For an entrance fee of AED4500 per team, racers were invited to gather their friends and create a 2-6 person crew for the Al Forsan and ADSC 6 Hour Endurance Race on December 25. Drivers belted up in an effort to win interesting prizes — the victorious team took home AED18,000.
All through December, Al Forsan, in continued partnership with ADSC, unveiled ADSC Sporting Clays Competition, in which shooters got the chance to use either 12, 20 or 26 gauge shotguns as they vied for the title of top shot. For an entrance fee of AED250, competitors were encouraged to steady their aim as they shot for prizes. The top three shooters were decided in an exciting shoot-off. They all took home a trophy, with the first place competitor taking AED5,000, second place taking AED3,000 and third place taking AED2,000.
Spread on a wide surface of 1,600,000sq m in the heart of Abu Dhabi’s new 2030 city plan at Khalifa City, the Al Forsan International Sports Resort features five world class sports for novices to professional and includes a comprehensive shooting area, water sports area featuring the first cable ski lakes in the Middle East, an Equestrian Centre, Motor Sports and themed indoor air conditioned paintball fields.
