Algerian artiste Lila Borsali enthralled spectators with Andaloussi music at the recently held Algerian concert at Katara – the Cultural Village on Tuesday.
Organised jointly by Cultural Village Foundation and Cultural Influence Agency of the Algerian embassy in Doha, the event presented a unique and enchanting music that captivated the audience.
Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti said cultural performances such as the Algerian concert introduce and bring cultures together at Katara, a place which “gets its inspiration from every place in the world.”
Dr al-Sulaiti was joined by Algerian ambassador Abdulaziz Saba along with heads of missions in Doha and other diplomats at the concert.
“We are very proud to host the Algerian musical concert by Lila Borsali which really manifests the Algerian culture of the Andalusian heritage,” he noted. “We hope that this event will be followed by hosting other enthralling Algerian events.”
Saba echoed the statement of al-Sulaiti saying that organising a similar concert is a culmination for the co-operation between Katara and the Cultural Influence Agency of Algerian embassy.
“The art presented by Lila Bursali takes us back to the golden age of the Arabic and Islamic culture,” the envoy stressed.
The concert also attracted members of various expatriate communities in Qatar who had the opportunity to speak with Borsali.
The Algerian performer thanked Katara officials for hosting the event saying “I really enjoy being at Katara that has always been the perfect place to host artistic and musical events.”
