An expatriate has been sentenced to six months in jail by a Doha Criminal Court for trying to steal air-conditioners from a residential unit, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.
The Public Prosecution had referred the defendant to the court on charges of attempting to steal some ACs from a residential building in the Umm Ghuwailina area.
The man used a private pick-up truck to transport the items that he had planned to steal. However, a guard at the building saw him and reported the matter to the police, who managed to catch the accused in action while he trying to take the ACs away.
