Nominations are open for the third Oryx GTL Student Awards 2016 until January 25, 2016, the organisers have announced.
The awards recognise outstanding individuals and future thought leaders who are instrumental in the transformation of Qatar into a knowledge economy in line with its National Vision 2030, according to a statement. It celebrates recently-graduated Masters and PhD candidates along with their dissertation advisers and highlights the importance of building postgraduate education capacity, especially for Qatar’s emerging R&D in energy-related fields. Stakeholders and students from industry and academia have been invited to nominate top individuals, along with an explanation for their choice and details on how their research supports Qatar’s future goals. The deadline for nominations is January 25, 2016.
The selection committee will review the submissions on January 28 and the winners will be contacted on February 7.
An awards ceremony will be held on April 25 at Qatar University (QU). “We are delighted to call for nominations for the third Oryx GTL Student Awards 2016 and look forward to exploring the innovative work from the brightest young talented minds in Qatar today,” the Oryx GTL CEO said.
