Total recently invited all its major contractors to its annual health, safety, environment (HSE) contractors forum, to demonstrate this year’s motto of ‘Better together’.
More than 50 attendees, including Total’s contracting companies, as well as Total’s management, HSE, asset and operations departments, and contractor management teams came together to reinforce the company’s commitment to safety.
Participating companies were invited to share their perspectives on Total’s golden rules, the challenges they faced, and lessons learnt. ‘Golden rules’ as a part of the safety culture programme implemented by the Total worldwide, which when implemented diligently, significantly reduces the risk of incidents.
An award ceremony was also organised to reward contractors for the best HSE performance for 2015 based on a strict selection criteria. Dopet who works in Total’s offshore site Al Khalij Field was awarded.
Eric Delattre, vice president Al-Khalij Asset and vice president operations, gave the opening speech of the event stressing on the importance of safety. “Safety is not only the topmost priority, it is the way we do business. Our success as a company strongly depends on our commitment to safety, our attitude and behaviour. We want to continue working fruitfully with our contractors, and breaking any barriers there are to create a better working environment.”
