The bodies of the three Filipino expatriates – Rafel Paule Pingul, his wife Chona Rian and their daughter Micaela – who died of smoke inhalation at Muntazah area will be repatriated to the Philippines tomorrow (December 25) morning via a Qatar Airways flight, Philippine ambassador Wilfredo Santos told Gulf Times.
From Manila, the bodies will be taken to Legaspi City, the native place of the family, for the funeral. Cota Arimao, head of the Assistance to Nationals at the embassy, said the victims died of “carbon monoxide poisoning,” based on the report from the Hamad General Hospital.
"We are still waiting for the result of the police investigation on the cause of the fire," he added. One member of the family, a 15-year-old boy, survived the tragedy, while the eldest, a daughter, was away in the Philippines.
