Ranjeewa Jayasooriya, a mechanical section technician from the Main Service at Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros (AAB), was the first runner-up in the GCC Technician Skills Grand Prix 2015 – General Technicians Category in Bahrain.
Jayasooriya was among the six contestants from Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and the UAE.
AAB is the exclusive dealer of Toyota and Lexus in Qatar.
AAB chairman Osama Abdullah al-Abdulghani said the company took various measures to ensure that it constantly improved its service.  
“This is why achievements of its people that contribute to this goal are recognised and celebrated,” he said.
A written test on a wide range of topics for vehicle systems and practical test for three sections (vehicle diagnosis, maintenance, and unit measurement) were conducted.
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Japan conducts the event.
