ExxonMobil Qatar hosted 14 training programmes for employees from valued partner Qatar Petroleum; joint ventures RasGas and Qatargas; Tasweeq and Nakilat.
The Tamayoz training programme shares ExxonMobil’s technical, commercial and operational expertise with local partners through a structured programme to increase participation of Qatari nationals in the workforce and enhance their
capabilities.
“The Tamayoz training programme was developed to cater to the training needs of our industry partners and their people, empowering them to become successful Qatari business leaders. Each course is relevant to areas of special interest identified through extensive discussions,” said Alistair Routledge, president and general manager, ExxonMobil Qatar.
Tamayoz delivers professional and personal development opportunities through six targeted critical competency areas: leadership and personal effectiveness; project management; commercial; operations excellence; technical (surface and subsurface) and safety, health and the environment. Courses held between September and December included offerings from each of the six key areas.
One of the 14 courses held during this time period, and new to Tamayoz, was Facility Design and Surveillance. The course gives participants the tools to design an oil and gas production facility, and to analyse surveillance data for effective facility optimisation.
Another course held this fall was Gas Business Fundamentals, one of the flagship Tamayoz commercial courses that prepares professionals for natural gas commercialization activities. Participants are equipped with a strong understanding of the global gas value chain, improved business knowledge skills and discernment of key commercial drivers.
“I am very pleased to have taken part in the Gas Business Fundamentals as it’s so relevant to my work as a commercial analyst. The course gave me a deeper understanding of the various facets of the natural gas industry, from exploration through to the marketing of products,” said Fatma Fadul al-Naimi, commercial
analyst I at Qatargas.
Around 140 courses have been offered free of charge to ExxonMobil partners and joint ventures with nearly 2,000 individuals receiving training since the inception of the programme in 2012. In 2015 alone, over 40 courses have been offered to more than 600 industry professionals.
