HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada led the Qatari delegation to the 95th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) in Cairo. The meeting was presided over by al-Sada as Qatar was chairing the current session of the Organisation.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in global oil markets. A release said the minister urged the OAPEC members to raise the level of coordination among them and reduce the cost of production even as efficiency is improved in oil production by safeguarding the environment. Latest developments in climate change were discussed by the meeting as well as the results of the research and scientific studies undertaken by the organisation. Prior to the ministerial meeting, an executive committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Qatar’s Sheikh Mishaal bin Jabor al-Thani.
