Alfardan Group has celebrated Qatar National Day (QND) as a show of support for the government’s ongoing efforts towards making Qatar one of the world’s most innovative and pioneering countries.
The occasion was marked by a wide range of cultural and leisure activities organised to showcase the country’s evolution over the past decades.
“As a silver sponsor of this year’s celebrations, the Group significantly contributed to the festivities as a token of its unwavering allegiance to Qatar. Its support also reflects the conglomerate’s steadfast commitment to complement the vision of the country’s wise leadership,” Alfardan Group said in a statement yesterday.
National Day, also known as Founder’s Day, provides a platform for citizens and residents of Qatar to join together in observance of their rich tradition and unified identity.
Hussain Alfardan, chairman of Alfardan Group, attended the festivities at the Corniche, which was the main venue of the celebrations.
The roster of activities, including the popular Darb Al Saai and other events staged ahead of the National Day, was open to the public and highlighted different aspects of the country’s cultural and social dimensions.
Alfardan Group president and CEO Omar Alfardan was awarded a trophy and a certificate of appreciation by HE Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali, Minister of Youth and Sports and head of the National Day Celebration Committee, during a special event held at Darb Al Saai on December 15.
The event was organised by the committee to commend the sponsors for their role and support for the National Day celebrations.
On this occasion, Hussain Alfardan said: “It is an honour to be part of this truly momentous event. This is a proud day for Qatar as we stand together with the wise leaders who have established this country as the dynamic economic powerhouse that it is today.
“We would also like to extend our greetings and congratulations to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, whose influence greatly contributed to the prosperity of the country.”
Omar Alfardan added: “The National Day is a significant cultural event that provides a platform for the people of Qatar to gather and celebrate the social and economic progress that the country has established following the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.”
