The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has celebrated Qatar National Day at its Heritage Village.
The event saw the participation of Ashghal president Nasser bin Ali al-Mawlawi, department directors
and staff.
At the event, al-Mawlawi  received HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) president Issa Hilal al-Kuwari, head of traffic planning and safety at the Traffic Department (Ministry of Interior) Brigadier Mohamed Marafi and a number of dignitaries, athletes and poets.
Ashghal’s National Day celebration this year aimed at demonstrating
the significance of loyalty to the country and reflect Ashghal’s belief in the importance of preserving Qatar’s heritage, upholding the inherited customs and passing them on to future generations.
The heritage village set up across the authority’s headquarters in West Bay welcomed visitors, including employees and consultants, and included a number of activities such as a classic cars roadshow.
The celebrations also comprised national folklore activities like the Al Muradah show presented by Nasiba Bin Kaab Independent School and Al Arda Al Qatariyya, in addition to poetry recitals and heritage-inspired contests.
