Al Rayyan powered to another easy victory in the Qatar Basketball League, this time thrashing Al Wakrah 93-69 at the Al Gharafa Indoor Hall.
Dominic Davon netted 15 from the three-point mark in his personal tally of 22 to top score for the winners, while Mohamed Hassan and Alban Ngombo came up with 19 apiece as Rayyan led throughout the game as they target yet another domestic title.
Hassan nailed five three-pointers out of 10 chances while Ngombo also came up with crucial plays to put the game beyond Al Wakrah.
Al Rayyan led 31-14 after the first quarter and by the end of the third enjoyed an 82-51 lead at which point Wakrah gave up. For Al Wakrah, Adamu Saaka scored 22 points, while Earl Cahe Jr had 21 and Souleye Ndour scored 17.
The second match of the day was equally lopsided with Al Gharafa thrashing Al Arabi 75-53. Hassino Ndoye was the star of the show with 20 points, including a 100 percent conversion rate from the four three-point attempts he made.
Mohamed Abdulrahman Saad with 17 and Dwayne Galloway with 17 and 14 respectively also excelled for the winners.
For Al Arabi Edward O’Brien scored 20 points while Narcellius Soyebo had 16. None of the other Al Arabi players, however, managed double figures.
Today, Al Sadd play Al Shamal at 5.15pm followed by a match between al Ahli and Qatar Sports Club at 7.15.
