Hot on their heels was France, who managed to inflict a 3-1 defeat upon the Kenyan side. Ethiopia then went head-to-head against Mexico in a match that saw Ethiopia emerge victorious with an 8-5 win.
The matches continued into Saturday with a superb display from Syria who managed to thrash Sri Lanka 14-1. Elsewhere, Tunisia defeated Portugal with an 11-1 win at the final whistle, while Jordan celebrated a well-deserved 5-2 victory in a fast and nail-biting game against the UAE.
With these results, Jordan leads Group “A” with 9 points, while Syria leads Group “B” with 9 points, followed by Tunisia and Ethiopia with 6 points each.
