The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has conducted 18 surprise inspection campaigns, in collaboration with Qatar Tourism Authority, targeting a number of hotels and apartment hotels in Al Dafna, Unaizah, Al Qatifah and The Pearl-Qatar, to ensure their compliance with laws and regulations pertaining to commercial permits.
Field inspectors’ uncovered five violations, ranging from expired commercial permits to providing unlicensed services to customers. The violators were fined. Three notices were issued obliging hotels to renew their commercial permits.
The inspection campaigns come within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to ensure the adherence of commercial establishments with the appropriate laws and regulations pertaining to commercial permits.
